[nflug] VOIP

You have to clarify what you mean by one phone connected to it. With a minimum of effort you can have your whole house on one "device" (just disconnect the demarc from the POTS) and use a splitter at the device for a desk phone at the device.

I'm assuming here you mean multiple phone #'s? Akin to sharing one Braodband connection but giving everyone a NATted IP #?

But everyone getting a separate Phone #? Sounds confusing - I had this image of you wearing the old school headset saying on your best nasally 50 year old smoker voice, " This is the Operator, please hold while I connect you VOIP call..."

The problem w/ Sun Rocket or Vonage is that they give
you a locked adapter, meaning you only get to use one
phone connected to it. With someone like voicepulse
connect or telesip you can have more than one device.
For example, you could buy service and have room
mates/friends or family connect to your PBX and give
them telephone through your service service. So when
someone calls, you can direct the calls to that person
whether they are on premises or not.
