I've got a spindle blank cd's if you could spare it... or even just
valid ISO's, I've got a fast burner. Maybe at the next meeting?

I've rebuilt the kernel and modutils from source using the RH8.0
glibc... no problems, but no speed either. Hence, the difference is in
the glibc, which corresponds to the errors I was getting, such as:

"GLIBC: <command> :TLS :not found or unrecognized symbols"

I could come up with an (unqualified) analysis of this in a few days,
I've got the development docs. It *is* beta, after all.

So I'm back online again with plain 8.0 and I followed the thread about
getting the beta after I made that comment about it. I got the binary
RPM's from dulug.edu. I have to wonder, did I get something bad? I
didn't use the MD5, maybe that was my mistake. *sigh* I guess it's time
to start using MD5... it's not like you can trust anything anymore. I
favor distro.ibiblio.org (AKA metalab AKA sunsite) but you can't even
get in there anymore, max users reached.

Question: How is the beta install (Anthony?) on your PC? What hardware
does it have? Should I keep trying on my Intel SMP box?
