Hmmm... Sounds like your machine has run out of sockets.  This happens
when there are a lot of initiators coming into the system.  Could be a
bug in SCO or you could have a rogue machine sending 'syn' packets and not
establishing connections.

Try 'netstat -an' to see if there are lots of established connections or some
such.  There's probably a kernel parameter in SCO to increase the number
of connections allowed if the connection list is valid.

Haven't messed with SCO in a long time...
