Your mileage may very but I'd start by looking at Sun's developer forums 
at http://forum.java.sun.com/forum.jspa?forumID=761. Another very good 
resource for SunDS is http://web.singnet.com.sg/~garyttt/.

If you plan on using SunDS in a production then I strongly recommend NOT 
stepping outside of Sun defined platform choices. Personally, I'd stick 
with running it on Solaris, i.e. Sun's "platform of choice".
