[nflug] It's that time of the month.... Almost

This saturday (Tomorrow) is the Second Saturday, which makes next week the Fifth...I mean Third Saturday of the month.

Which means there is a NFLUG meeting next week.

ITT students (I know there are a couple out there) Talk to your teacher for saturday classes and let them know that the Dean figures NFLUG is a legitimate field trip. All the benefit, none of the travel...

Other students at other schools...those schools may have requirements placed on the teachers to require field trips. Talk to those teachers and see if you can spend a couple of hours talking about something cool, rather than how to instantiate objects in Object COBOL.

Everyone else...we need a topic!

What I would like to try is a throwback to the 'old days' and have some kind of Install/CD/DVD swap party. In other words, bring in your Computers, and we'll see if we can get various programs/distributions running.

If someone who is more current on 'Comparative Rel... Linux Distributions' than I am, please feel free to volunteer to talk about some of the more popular distributions and any relative strengths/weaknesses.

What would be really cool, is if that someone was also knowledgeable about BSD/Solaris so we could get a feel for when/when not to look at those distributions.

On the other hand, if someone wants to talk about something else, I am wide open to other ideas.

Thanks for everyone's help, and I hope to see everyone next Saturday, July 21.
