Not sure this is the solution, but on my first look into it...

First link on google, references a bug report on Sun's site. It is
currently unavailable due to some maintenance. However, clicking on the
cached copy google has, the following was listed as a solution...

"Problem is libdeploy.so in Java 6 or above depends on libstdc++.so.5;
and libstdc++.so.5 is not available by default on Fedora."

It is entirely likely that I installed this library for something else,
and thus did not run into the problem you did, because I had it already
installed when I tried Sun's JRE. Make sure this library is installed
and see if that fixes it.

I did install the following rpm, which might have solved the issue
before I even ran into it...

"compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-61.i386.rpm"

Checking what's installed rpmwise, I find...

" rpm -qa |grep libstd
libstdc++-4.1.2-12
libstdc++-devel-4.1.2-12
compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-61"

Let me know if that helps any.
