You should delete that printer and reinstall it via cups. Make sure that
your hplip is the latest as well, then restart hplip and cups and
install the printer via http://localhost:631, when choosing the
connection for it, choose the one that shows up as "hp://"whatever...,
then you'll have a nice way to check ink levels and align the printer
with the hp-toolbox app, that should be in your menu as well (don't know
about kde)
