If the same cd worked ok on the dell and not on your other pc, it's most
likely the drive that it doesnt like on your other pc. RH and FC have
had troubles in the past with boot medium, depending on whether the
drive itself was on the first/second channel, master/slave. I've seen
many times where a boot cd would not work unless the cd/dvd drive was a
slave on  the primary ide channel. If, when you boot this cd on the pc
that had the crc errors, do you get an initial boot/login screen from
the cd? If so, try some boot options like acpi=off or acpi=nodma, etc..
There's probably a menu option to show the different boot options for
troublesome drives/systems.
