[nflug] UPS on USB update

Wow, and some people think Linux is hard. Just got an APC UPS on USB,
plugged it in, all set. Some simple steps,
1. yum install apcupsd
2. start the service "service apcupsd start"
3. check it out "service apcupsd status"
4. all set
Configs can be made for customizations at /etc/apc/apcupsd.conf in a
very easy to read explanatory file. It finds the USB device
automagically (which is really nice because of the way USB device ID's
can flip flop around, I expected a big problem with that). Emails root
of power outages, etc..
Now what is REALLY cool and I just found this but you can network the
UPS! That is too say that you can have 1 UPS monitor or notify another
pc of power failure that would be plugged into the same UPS (so as the
one properly shuts down, it doesn't leave the other running to
eventually slam down). That is too cool, gotta poke into that a some
more and will keep you all posted. I'm assuming not too many people on
the list have had experience with USB UPS's as I didn't get too much
response from my initial inquiries. If anyone on the list has experience
with networking the UPS's, please give my you .02. Thanks
