[nflug] Question re: Nvidia and DRI

I know that DRI is removed from the xorg.conf when using Nvidia drivers ( I switched to the debian packages installers from the Mvidia installer).  When xscreensaver runs (debian testing) I get an error, Xlib extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0"

I've googled it and I see lots of links related to Nvidia and it not using dri and rerunning dpkg-reconfigure xserver etc.  I've done all that.  It appears that Xscreensaver is still trying to call dri extensions - ANy ideas on how to get it to stop doing that?
