Debian and cdrecord under >2.6.8(follow up to vlok and cyber as well)

For me,. we have used all sorts, dvd-rom/cd-rw combos, cd-rw's, 
dvd-rw's. Is your cd-rw on /dev/hda? If so, I do recall one of the older 
2.6 kernels having a problem if the Linux system itself was on a real 
scsi system and the cd-rw was ide, the work around was to become root to 
burn. That got fixed with later kernels. I've seen all sorts. I would 
say you should try a different drive before you go changing everything. 
I don't have any in stock at the moment for you to try but I will by mid 
next week if you wanted to bring you box in. Just a thought.
