[Advent Systems]

green_man,
    I tried to experiment a little and open a jpg file with my text 
editor (gedit) and it said "gedit could not detect the character 
coding".  I'm running gnome and gedit is the only text editor I have.  
What text editor should I use?  Also, what is a "thumbprint"?
