[nflug] RE: Copy of Red Hat 7.2

Hi John,

Point taken.

One HTML post or requesting a copy of RH 7.2 doesn't really justify
jumping down someone throat. Maybe David was not at his best. I
certainly wasn't on my best behavior and for that I apologize.

People are free to kf me. That was my first post to NFLUG in months,
though I do monitor the group for useful information.

I have yet to hear of _anybody_ who has had their Mac OS X system
compromised, and I have searched. No one has any record of it happening
that I can find. Didn't Synmantek offer something like a $10,000 reward
to someone who did crack OS X, until the lawyers got involved? But Apple
is not a big target, as Windows and Linux are. People to see Apple as
benign and less threatening when, in reality, we are plotting to take
over the world. Windows and Linux are definittely vulnerable. It's
unfortunate that we _have_ to go to such extreme security measures, but
that is an unfortunate ( and expensive ) fact of life. I find the amount
of Spam I get unacceptable and am doing battle to get it to a manageable
amount per day. ISPs, especially abroad, really need to crack down.

Well, thank you! I suppose I tend towards hyperbole when trying to make
a point. But I doubt RH 7.2 is as great a threat as has been stated.

When one has a major issue with something like that security issue or
with say a post containing embedded HTML, it is not to go in publicly
with guns ablazing, especially when directed at one person. It would be
best to go off-line and explain why it would be better to do otherwise.
It's a courtesy, in a world which seems to have so litle courtesy left.
I am sometimes guilty of this.

Hey! Even Mac people have bad days.

I think it has all blown over and the necessary objections to things
have been made. I will not post with embedded HTML again, although I
would not complain if someone else did. I am curious about something and
maybe you can help. When someone specifies a link to a site in this
group or elsewhere, that link shows up on my screen in blue and
underlined. Is that HTML?
