If you look at your /etc/inittab, you'll see that hitting ctrl+alt+delete just executes a shutdown. I prefer to disable it to prevent accidental reboots.

Why is it so bad to let rebooting happen through ctrl-alt-del ?  Is 
there a way to remotely type in characters that imitate ctrl-alt-del, 
or is it just for security against people in the office or wherever?
