I run VMware workstation under linux. It can be downloaded from the web site
but aquiring a license is an exercise left up to the user:-)

Once running I created a virtual session - this creates the virtual hardware
machine you will run on. HTen i install Win98 normally once I start my Virtual
machine. Then Windows runs as if it has its own physical hardware. Windows
runs in a windowed VMware session but I can make it full screen and it looks
like windows is running exclusively. I can show you if you want to stop by the
house sometime (in kenmore) I have a lot of VMware experience becasue we use it
at work a LOT! Making a virtual session does use up a large chunk of space.
If I want a 2-4 GB Harddrive for my session I use up that much space on my
physical drive. As far as the session (win 98) is concerned it is a free
standing system with no ties to the host (it can be setup to share files etc
via samba suring installation) So If I want to print I setup a printer in
windows just like I would on a seperate machine etc.
