Well, there are a bunch of text editors, ranging from archaic but very fast to
highly mouse dependant (and slower) that you could use to edit the file.  Try
using something like 'pico' to do the editting.  It is arguably the easiest
editor to work with.

You can change init levels by typing 'telinit 3' or 'telinit 5' to go to levels
three and five, respectively.  Just remember to never set the default init
level to six or 0 or you will have big problems...
