Knoppix/Debian install

Has anyone ever done a Debian install from a Knoppix cd. I started doing a Debian install from the Knoppix  cd . And after it copys the files the screen goes blank during the install but the cdrom is spinning and the hdd is moving as if its installing. Is there supposed to be graphical pics and stuff during the install like Redhat does or just nothing is their something wrong? Its my first time installing debian from a knoppix cd and dont know what to expect..
