News reader?

What do I use for a newsreader to access newsgroups?   And how do I 
search the newsgroups for the one I want?  I'm on Mandrake 9.1 RC2.

I posted a message to cups.general on their website and can't get back 
to it to see if there were any replies (because it acts like it's hosted 
on a 386sx with a 300 baud modem).  I figure if I skip the web and go 
right to the newsgroup, I'll have better luck.
