Well, if you got it to work in Windows, then that means you have the loop
back cable plugged in. But I think your problerm is your sound drivers
instead of your TV card. Try this:
1) Make sure that the loop back cable is plugged into your soundcard's
Line-In, instaed of Microphone.
2) Set up your sound drivers so that Line-In is not muted & set to record.
I don't know how to do this with OSS, but you can use alsamixer with ALSA.
However, if you're using KDE/GNOME, you should probably be able to use the
sound control applets that they provide.
