courier / squirrelmail

I'm setting up squirrelmail with my new courier imap system. I have set 
the imap server type to courier, but it refused to show the folders 
until I set the folder prefix to INBOX., but then all the folders look 
like INBOX.XXXX, INBOX.FFFFF it feels like it's still trying to use it 
like a UW server. Any Ideas?
