the 127.0.0.1 is the loop back network address of all machines to getting a
response from it is normal. the reason for not being able to connect to the
swap port is probably because the swat daemon is not running. take a look
in /etc/xinetd.d for some file called swat or samba, if nothing looks
apparent grep -il swat or samba. by default most of these are disabled,
edit the approiate file and change the disabled=yes to no, and run
/etc/init.d/xinetd reload and you should be all set.
