Check your BIOS settings to make sure it is set to auto for the drive parameters and auto/LBA. Depending on how old your motherboard is, it may have a limit of 4GB and you will then need to write BIOS enabling to the MBR of the hard drive. Go to the web site of the manufacturer of the hard drive and download the BIOS software, if your hard drive is not being recognized fully.
