Man, that's slimy!  I guess M$ isn't the only one interested in monopoly. 
 The local server in Jabber is what interested me.  AFAIK, "local" AIM is 
dependent on internet access.  Last time I tried, I couldn't get AIM for 
Linux.  I'll look into the others as well.  If I can get something to 
work with it, that's one more reason to use Linux on the home network!
