Make sure you start clean, doing an "apt-get -f install" will show if
you have something not right, like a package half installed, then I can
try and walk you through a resolution. I had one yesterday from a feisty
update that borked on a broken dependency for an upgraded cups package,
that was a bitch to resolve, but I did. This is why I take the
update-notifier out of people's sessions, not so much for dependency
problems that occur but for the occasional kernel upgrade that someone
might do unknowingly, and you can imagine what happens there.
