lm_sensors has a module called eeprom than can read the state of the
DIMM slots and the RAM size.  Check the lm_sensors documentation. 
(google is your friend)  Beware that some lm_sensors modules can be a
little unstable (I donno how well it performed on RH 7.2 as that's
ancient)  so use as few modules as possible.
