Have you considered moving up to a more recent distro?  like whatever
mandrakesoft (or mandriva) has,  or ubuntu, or FC5.  I'd personally
recommend ubuntu as it was dead easy to install and update, as I
recently did a duron 900 mhz box (went from win2k to Linux for a family
member) with ubuntu 5.10 (stable) and it runs great on it.
