Serial ATA

In the process of purchasing a computer or two.  One
really nice 'barebones' system at Tigerdirect mentions
Serial ATA.  I have heard rumors about Serial ATA is
not working with Linux (at least Fedora Core 2-3).  Is
there any truth to this? is there configuration
options to get Serial ATA to work?
