[nflug] cdrecord woes

I've been having the same problem since 2.6. But I burn so few and far
between that I just boot into my old 2.4 kernel to do it. But as of recent
I've had other problems with 2.4 because the rest of my system has been
moving further away from it. So its time to buckle down and figure this
out. My understanding has been that in 2.4 you needed the SCSI emulation
for cdrecord because it didn't use ATAPI transport. Now with 2.6 you
don't need it. I had the scsi-emu
drivers built as modules and I figured that simply not loading them would
be good enough. But maybe it has to be taken out all together. I could
very definitely
be wrong about this, but I'm going to get around to it in the near future.
To answer your other question: cdrdao works fine for me in 2.6. But its
ways are so weird (you have to make a xml file for it) that I only use it
to burn isos and vcds.
