Normal user sound Debian Q?

My bookmarks live in my user home directory under .mozilla (the . makes
it normally hidden).

/home/bigbird/.mozilla/bigbird/1a414ofz.slt/bookmarks.html

(your path will be different)

I've never lost them, but if I did, I have an rsync of /home that runs
every night to a backup drive (scripts available on request) and I could
just copy it back into place. I have had many occasions where I've
clobbered an important file by accident and, (as long as I realize it
before the weekly backup blows it away forever), I can get it back in a
few seconds.

So my first advice is to back up at least that file. It's just a plain
html file.
Second, if you go into Firefox bookmarks and click file export, you get
an html bookmark file saved wherever you want it.
I haven't tried it, but if you just put it where mozilla wants it, it
might work.
