Attempted Apache Exploit???

I am running apache 2.0.49 and when I looked at my access logs i see
mulitple instances of

[19/Jun/2004:08:44:53 -0400] "SEARCH
/\x90\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x02\x

Obviously I cut the rest off because the log file was a couple mb from
all the attempts. Was this an attempt to exploit the apache? I have no
idea what else it would be. I do have the ip addresses of the people
who made the requests, is this worth making a stink about?
