The New York City Blender User's Group and Polytechnic University
announce the 2007 New York Blender Conference at the Polytechnic
University Brooklyn campus, Saturday and Sunday October 20th and 21st
starting at 10:00 a.m. and going until about 7 p.m. You Must Register
here to attend. http://blenderheads.com/conf/index.php?title=Register

Blender (http://www.blender.org) is a free open source 3D content
creation suite, available for all major operating systems under the
GNU General Public License. It compares well to software like Maya or
3D Studio Max. If you want to see what Blender is capable of, trying
watching the animated short, Elephants Dream. It's a free download,
plus you can download the complete sources of the movie, including
models, textures, etc. http://www.elephantsdream.org/

The conference is free to attend, but we (the volunteer staff) are
accepting donations:

Sessions will be lead by Blender experts covering beginning through
advanced topics. There will also be a "hacklab", where people can
work on projects, ask questions, or try out their skills.

There is still time to propose a session/talk/demo. We have 6 rooms
available, many equipped with projectors and computers.

Claim a slot here: http://blenderheads.com/conf/index.php?title=Schedule
