[nflug] not booting w/out acpi=off boot option

Hi all, I'm having an issue w/ a Compaq Presario
SR1103WM. I need to pass the acpi=off for it to boot.
My
problem is that it won't shut down. You have to
manually 
power down after it says "system halted". The bios has
shadow going but no way to turn it off. Any ideas?
