There are currently two open positions in my group here at UB (Enterprise 
Infrastructure Services, which is part of CIT). Applications for the 
positions will be accepted until 12-12-2007. If interested, additional

Position Title: Senior Systems Administrator

Position Summary:

Broad responsibilities include deployment, administration and maintenance 
of large-scale mission critical UNIX/Linux services. Daily tasks are 
dynamic and may include system & software installation, patching, 
monitoring, troubleshooting, security, disaster recovery, capacity 
planning, and upgrades. May also involve some system design, customer 
support, working with vendors, campus-level technical consulting and team 
leadership. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree. Three to five years' 
experience installing and administering large-scale UNIX/Linux systems in 
a complex network environment. Experience with scripting/programming, 
advanced troubleshooting, and developing solutions. Understands and can 
apply high availability concepts. Excellent interpersonal skills, 
self-motivation, and team-player approach. Learns quickly, able to manage 
multiple priorities. Follows best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred candidates have also supported any of the following 
enterprise-level services: email, printing, directory services, load 
balancing, hardware redundancy, name service, authentication and identity 
management, advanced file systems, large web servers, storage area network 
administration, intermediate-level programming, Oracle server installation 
& administration, or Windows server administration.
