Well, what is sending your system logs? You should still be able to execute /usr/sbin/sendmail to connect to outgoing port 25. Remember that the sendmail *daemon* only *listens* on port 25. The same should be true for the Domino server. You can possibly tell whatever is sending the Emails to connect to port 25 on localhost or it can run a sendmail process to send something. I think I need more details about where you're trying to send the logs. Does it have to get into the Domino server to get to where it needs to go?
Cheers!
Bob

Subject: [nflug] Sending System Logs with Sendmail Off
Hey Folks,
I'm
sure I should know the answer to this one, but can't seem to figure it
out. I have a Redhat 4 server that is running Lotus Domino/Notes, and thus
needs to bind to port 25. So I have sendmail turned off, My system log
emails won't get sent though because sendmail is not running.
How can I get this running? If
I tell sendmail to forward to an outgoing SMTP server can I get it not
to bind to port 25?
Thanks
Justin
