[nflug] Sata question

I havent put together sata mobo just wondering how
many sata drives can be on one controller? I have mobo
that has sata 1 and sata 2 does this mean I can put 2
drives on sata 1 and 2 on sata 2? Do they make cables
that you can add more drives to? Im just trying to
compare to doing ide controller. Any suggestions?
