Just a reminder about the BPLUG meeting tomorrow:

The following is the time/date/location info:

Buffalo Professional Linux Users Group Meeting

Date: Tuesday, March 14th 2006 6:00pm-9:00pm
Location: The PCA Group

Airport Commerce Park
455 Cayuga Road, Suite 200

Topic:

Computer Forensics: Responding, Securing, and Tracking

This meeting is an overview of an up-and-coming 3-5 day boot camp
specifically focused on computer forensics for businesses. The boot camp
goes beyond typical knowledge of how to secure a machine or systems, and
focuses on what to do if an intrusion is determined, or even how to
determine an intrusion occurred in the first place. While the boot camp
takes actual compromised machines and applies forensic methods to actually
track, secure, and respond to intrusions over the course of a number of
days, the meeting will discuss the methods in more of an overview without
applying them directly. Knowing what to do in the case of an intrusion is
often times more important than securing any network front end. Being able
to balance business needs, security needs, and legal needs is a critical
component that this meeting will solve.

The will also be a presentation by Jesse Jarzynka previewing Ubuntu Dapper
running XGL and Compiz.
As usual, please RSVP (just send me an email) to ensure enough food and
seating is available.

Thanks,

Mark
