XML is a retarded construct. Your best bet is to de-struct it in C.  
Java is C's drunk and retarded brother and usually screws things up. Use 
C to keep it  (and any other fake ass interpreted languages).  Perl, 
Python, Ruby, et. al. are all C' bitches.
