That's not exactly the GNU/Linux spirit.
All Linux Distros are basically the same except for the packaging and the
/etc scripts. I'd say pick whatever distro you are comfortable with and
update the kernel, X, and your video card drivers and go from there.
I did a quick search for a distro optimized for gaming. The only thing
that really came up was Gentoo because of their gaming-kernel. But that
doesn't apply anymore because Linux 2.6 fixed alot of the issues
that the 2.4 gaming-kernel was optimized for. So I think that you'll be
good with just about anything.
