I think I am finding _a_ problem, because I just failed at the
installation of a NEtgear MA111, which has been 'guaranteed' to work....

It seems when I download the kernel-DEVEL-2.6.12-1.338.i686_FC4.rpm
(which is spelled out but actually put in a different directory than the
one redhat says it is in...) things compile, but, wouldn't you know it

THE VERSION OF THE KERNEL WITH FC%#@@!#@$!@#$!^$#%^#%#&#$%^#$&$$%^&%^&4
IS kernel-devel-2.6.12-1.339.i686_FC4 ...,
I know I'm really a noob for not catching that MAJOR difference. Hell,
I've only been programming computers since 1976. Obviously the much
more experienced brain trust at redhat knows that every pinhead in the
world would have spotted that. Of course, my fedora was downloaded from
redhat. I should have picked a more authoritative mirror for my copy.

Does anyone think that there is an rpm available for the kernel that I
have...that I got from the ISO files at red hat?

Next chance, I'm dumping FC4 and going to SUSE for my own work, and
leaving Fedora for the classes I teach. And tell my students to try
some version of linux where the implementation is done by someone with
an IQ bigger than their dick size (in meters).
