DSL without Phone?

My opionions/conclusions,

Because they are now offering VoIP they probably have decided to allow this
-- If you look at the pricing the VoIP unlimited solution is as much as a
home phone anyway ($39.95/mnth).  In essence, they are making out...they can
charge the same price for VoIP and DSL ($37.95/mnth no contract 3.0M/769K)
as they would with DSL and a POTS line.  You would need the faster speed to
accomodate the VoIP.

I was looking around verizon's website and i was wondering if i could
get dsl with out an home phone. So i put in my address and it says
this

"Verizon Online DSL is available for your location.
 Our records indicate that you do not currently have local phone
service with Verizon, however you can still order Verizon Online DSL
without voice. You'll get all the advantages of Verizon Online DSL
without having Verizon local phone service."

I thougth they did not allow this?!?!?!

packages: Month to Month speed: 3.0MBPS down 768kbps up modem is 39.95
and it is 42.95 a month

one year: speed: 3.0MBPS down 768kbps up modem is included or
wirelessrouter foir 14.95 34.95/month

First month free on both ot these.

Can anyone confirm this because i know alot with these companys they
say this then try to get you in the end.
