I don't blame Shakira - although at one point I raved against everyone involved
in producing a CD that will not play on a computer or Digital player.

Obviously the "protection" had little impact except to keep the majority from
using the CD on the player they wanted in the format they wanted, since the
MP3s were easily available in just about whatever your file swapping
application of choice is.  So one has to use "illegal" software to get a
legally purchased album in a format that can be played on their legally
purchased MP3 player.

Wow that's an orwellian world. Catch-22 comes to mind as well.
