Backup your profile; should be under something like...

~/.mozilla/firefox/yag63uft.default

Something like that....just backup the whole firefox directory.

Uninstall the old version.  Install the new.  Should work right out of 
the box, with all your preferences.

You sure it's v0.10.1?  Not 1.0.1?
