FC3 and connecting to Samba

I use konqueror to connect to server shares, I can open files on the 
shares and edit them, but when I go to save the files the dialog window 
renames the file with a number and forces me to save it locally instead 
of on my share.  Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?  I was using 
FC2 and everything was working fine, I guess I did something bizarr?
