did you try to link it to the java2 dir
 (/usr/lib/mozilla-1.5/plugins)# ln -s
/usr/lib/mozilla-1.5/plugins/java2/plugin/i386/ns600/libjavaplugin_oji.so
 libjavaplugin_oji.so*
