Mandrake login problem

THis has happened to me before after gettign corruption due to wahtever
reasons.  I normally do a reinstall of KDE and everything works out OK.  If you
try urpmi kde and it tells you everything already installed, uninstall kde and
k3b (if installed) and the urpmi kde.  Your kde settings are in your home dir
so they should be fine.  THat's how I've doen it.  Of course you can add kdm
manually and repoint the dm start up files to kdm...
