MySQL problems

Check to see if you have the rpms installed for PHP and MySQL. Here's the
output I get:

[root at alpine3 cron.daily]# rpm -qa | grep mysql
mysql-devel-3.23.56-1.80
mysql-3.23.56-1.80
mysql-server-3.23.56-1.80
php-mysql-4.2.2-8.0.8
libdbi-dbd-mysql-0.6.5-2

[root at alpine3 cron.daily]# rpm -qa | grep php
php-ldap-4.2.2-8.0.8
php-mysql-4.2.2-8.0.8
php-imap-4.2.2-8.0.8
php-4.2.2-8.0.8
php-devel-4.2.2-8.0.8

You should only need mysql, mysql-server, mysql-devel, php, php-devel,
php-mysql

I believe the versions listed above are the latest, at least for Redhat 8.0

Since you're new to mysql, like I am, I have a site where you can get more
info than you'll want to read:

http://www.mysql.com/doc/en/index.html

Good luck!
