sound

my problem seems to be deeper than just realplayer. 
i get no sound w/ any games. 
it looks for /dev/dsp and finds nothing.
there is no /dev/dsp
like i said xmms and alsaplayer work fine
the games had sound before now nothing
I have sblive audigy platinum
what is mknod command?
