Hi, Joshua,
Can you find out the chipset and/or motherboard make and model?
I can't speak for Mandrake, but for Slackware, one must usually
compile new modules for various onboard sound chips. Also, some
on board sound chips are less than perfect in "Fully Soundblaser
Compatable" compatibility. It may be simplest to disable the
onboard sound and add in a card you know Mandrake supports well.
With more info, I'm sure one of the Mandrake veterans here will be
able to help you more.
