If your mail program allows you to put in your own custom headers, you
can simply put in:

Read-Receipt-To: your at email.address

In the email that you send out...it might be worth a try..

from their suprt site
Question
Some other mail clients (eg, "MS Outlook") allow a
request for "read receipt".
Does Evolution-Mail impement this feature?
  	Answer
No, there is no way to request a "read receipt" in
Evolution-Mail.

There have been some requests for this facility but we
have, so far, been reluctant to implement it.

There are several reasons for this:

    * there is no standard for this facility so no
clear path for it's implementation
    * because of (1) these requests often fail since
many mail servers will not allow a "return receipt".
    * Philosophically, there is a privacy issue as
regards the receiver sending confirmation email
without the knowledge of the mail recipient.
    * it would require a fair amount of effort that,
in view of the above factors, we are hesitant to
undertake.
