Dual boot

Sorry, had to jump in.  The MBR is was written by LILO.  Just removing the
Linux disk will not automatically boot into windows.  The MBR has to see the
boot device (the Linux HD) to be able to finish.  

If you yank the boot device you can;t boot.  Windows is still there but the
boot loader is pointing to the wrong location.

The short answer is if you don't want Linux on the box anymore run fdisk /mbr
as first mentioned and then reboot, windows will start.
